Wolves in Sheep Clothing

Wolves In Sheep's Clothing

This is not a racist statement, but a straightforward statement to a group of White Americans in my community and maybe yours as well. Many of you, whom I'm referring to, are highly educated, which leads me to believe you already know what you are doing. Or you may be sincere but just culturally ignorant as to how your actions affect my community? And you would be the first one to say there is only one community when you know that is far from the truth. So, who is this group? You are wolves in sheep's clothing, or should I say co-signers of black ignorance.

You are the ones who use social media as your own intellectual playground. You scan the African American community daily, looking for your target audience. Your target is new cultural and political activists whose educational backgrounds consist of TikTok, YouTube, and, perhaps, CNN. When they post or comment, you hear the unlearned ignorance of the argument or conversation, just as I do. But instead of standing down or correcting them in private, you push that like, love, and share button, knowing that your white privilege co-signs and trumps any argument that we may have. (TRUMPS HMM?) You know they have been trained to look to you for approval. Of course, because you trained them that way. You sort them out at community functions, take a picture with their family and friends, and even support any weak idea of community development that they initiated, as long as it doesn't interfere with your real agenda. KEEP THE NI&&$@ in his place.

My community needs to move forward in a well-maintained vehicle with proper fuel. Your ability to gas up such individuals is like pouring water on the grease fire that I mentioned in my previous blog, HOW TO DEFEAT AN EXPLOSIVE ENEMY. I’ve tried to tap several of you on the shoulder and ask you not to do this, but you try to disguise your actions as good Samaritans, encouraging open dialogue. When you know that their message is reaching a new generation that desires this Black Studies course of instant gratification, not requiring them to read any of the foundation laid by the Black educational scholars of my community. The list is too long to name, but you know them, because I saw their books on your shelf the last time we had this conversation. Consider this another friendly reminder…

STOP CO-SIGNING BLACK IGNORANCE
